System in 3960x, Intel DX79TO, 32GB ram, 680GTX.

I got it all working, runing nice.

Since I am a overclocking fan, i have it oveclocked to 4,6GHz.

I tried Geekbench, it shows 3,3GHz.

When I downclock it to 4.0GHz it also gives the sam result.

I tried some pre made SSDTs, but no effect.

Could someone please point me to the right direction?

Thanks in advance.

BR, Edi

Did you try the overclocked i7 SSDT in MultiBeast? But that one is limited to 4.2Ghz, you have to edit it manually to get it higher. You will also need to delete NullCPUPowerManagement.

Thanks.

I would repair permissions before boot.

deleting nullcpu with that mobo/cpu=kernel panic

Oh geez. Why is it required for 2500k etc?

Got a kernel panic. Reinstalling allready.

Any other advice please?

Thanks in advance.

nullcpupowermanagement overrides the native power management kexts in osx (so running at full speed, no sleep etc).
the 2500k has both native kernel support and power management support (appleintelcpupowermanagement).
lga2011 cpus (sandy bridge-e) has kernel support, but not power management support. so when booting with native pm on a SB-E cpu, you will kernel panic on the pm kext.

for cpu architectures that are supported by the native pm, its pointless to run with nullcpu.
for sb-e, its necessary until apple fully support x79/lga2011

Ah, thank you for that. And I's sorry OP I don't know how to get SpeedStep working for you .

any other help?
