OSX Sierra / CPU

Does anyone know how to check if the CPU is operating as it should, speedsteps, and the P / C states, that sort of thing.
(This is OSX Sierra install / 4790K)

Thanks Adrian at the end I just used Intel Power Gadget in OSX Sierra, and it's easy to see the CPU stepping up/down. The steps are much finer than they are in Win 7, so it seems Sierra works great with 4790K. Unfortunately Intel Power Gadget won't run in Mountain Lion, it installs, just stays blank, no readings.
