OS X El Capitan installation ok but after restarting is back on Yosemite 10.10.5

I have Yosemite on a HP 4540S working 100% and after downloading El Capitan and proceeded to install, it states that it would restart several times but once restart it just go back to Yosemite 10.10.5 no changes

Any ideas why this is happening?

If your boot menu has several options, it may default to the wrong one. When the installer reboots, you should pick the one that starts with "Install OS X".
