Back to the original 892 audio problem. OS X audio does not work on Asus P67 motherboards with the 3K BIOS. HDMI audio works in Mountain Lion if even onboard audio is not working as long as you are using a native AppleHDA.kext layout-id. Something in the 3K BIOS prevents AppleHDA.kext from loading properly.

I don't know what is wrong. I have compared working dsdts and non working dsdts and have not found the difference. In your IOReg, there are two audio codecs which is good. Unfortunately, AppleHDA stops loading due to an error. You can see in HDEF, it never loads the pinconfigs, even though the codec is recognized.

Install the native ML AppleHDA.kext. You will have Nvidia HDMI audio, Reply with a copy of IOReg.
