Hi,
Step 14. says I need to "Install UEFI or Legacy Clover version using the USB (Install macOS Big Sur Beta) as the target."
I've downloaded Opencore (OpenCore-0.8.0-RELEASE.zip)
Unzipped it.
What do I do next -
There's two places where there are EFI files.
IA32
X64

How do I - Install OpenCore EFI using the USB's EFI partition (Install macOS Big Sur Beta) as the target volume.

Many thanks!

Aidan

Option 1: OpenCore Bootloader (Experimental- Working for Big Sur)
13. Download OpenCore Bootloader from the official downloads section.
14. Install OpenCore EFI using the USB's EFI partition (Install macOS Big Sur Beta) as the target volume.
15. Navigate to /EFI and apply necessary kexts, SSDTs.

I'll be using the onboard GFX - I've updated my graphics card :) good shout, thanks P1lgrim!

Thanks Iwire.
Another piece of the puzzle, I've got it mounted *well, I can mount the Big Sur install, not the actual USB for some reason.
Can anyone tell me , what do I do now?

You may want to try searching for other ga-z97 builds and review them. The link below has similar hardware to yours..

Update: Issue solved
Here's what I did.
Using my Monterey M1 Macbook Air
I wasn't able to open the EFI partition, because most disks are formatted for windows.
I used the first steps from this:

  1. Open Disk Utility
To open Disk Utility - Open Finder > Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility

  2. Click View in the upper left and select Show All Devices. (this was crucial as I wasn't able to get to the partition tab, it was greyed out!!)

  3. Select the non-indented entry, you will see Media in the name
  4. Click the button labelled Erase in the menu which will bring up this window.
NOTE: If you don’t see Scheme, then make sure that all devices are showing and the non-indented entry is selected. Check step 2 to confirm Disk Utility is Showing All Devices. --**** I then erased using the instructions here:). https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...-big-sur-public-beta-installation-usb.300100/

  5. This is my instructions from here on in.
I then needed to install OPencore, https://github.com/dortania/OpenCore-Install-Guide/blob/master/installer-guide/opencore-efi.md
But how... I had a workable USB, but no way of accessing the EFI partition.
So, I used EFI agent: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/efi-agent-v1-3-2-menu-bar-utility.272976/
  6. To install into the EFI partition I clicked the downwards facing arrow at the end of the entry for my USB drive near the top of the EFI agent window. It asked me for my password, I put it in and lo and behold a EFI partition appeared in the left hand side bar of finder.

  7. I then dropped the EFI folder in to the correct folder on the USB drive as per instructions here https://github.com/dortania/OpenCore-Install-Guide/blob/master/installer-guide/opencore-efi.md

I hope this helps as these steps are completely ommitted from the installation guide
