Onboard Firewire not working on Sandy Bridge Hackintosh

So I'm having the same problem. Mobo is listed in my sig. Weird thing is it was working when I first setup the machine. I was then performing a time machine backup using FW 400 through the onboard connection. It went only about half way and then disconnected the hard drive on its own. It has never worked since. Strange thing is if I connect the same HDD through USB 2.0 it works and mounts perfectly. BIOS has FW enabled

Scratching my head on this...
