In my last post I detailed about my new 960 and how I detested Yosemite and trying to get it to work with Mavericks. I'm so close. I edited SystemVersion.plist so that my version was 10.10.2 and my build was 14C1514. I tricked the NVIDIA web driver installer and installed the drivers successfully. I can't load the OS and I get an error (I can only boot in with nv_disable=1):

After I see that it just crashes and restarts the computer.

Is there a fix or is my struggle useless?

Thanks for your time.

Me neither, I dont like Yosemite and I am staying with mavericks until some better os will come...
And like you I want to be able to use recent hardware under Mavericks.

The problem you get is, I suppose , that the Nvidia kext you managed to install is built against some graphics headers from Yosemite. And since these drivers are not open source you can not recompile them for mavericks.

By the way, do you know which video cards are supported in the latest release of web drivers for 10.9.5?

Good luck!

Maxwell cards are Yosemite only. Other than those any card should work with Mavericks as long as it supports the OpenCL needed.
