That was quick- nVidia has made their updated "web driver" for Quadro and GeForce cards available. I was prompted to upgrade (to 313.01.03f01) and then reboot. After rebooting I was prompted to upgrade CUDA as well. Seems to work fine. I have not tried any benchmarking or extended comparison with the built-in Apple drivers yet.

So far searching the nVidia web site does not seem to lead to the direct downloads for the newest versions. Probably coming soon...

Update: nVidia has now posted the driver on their support page http://www.nvidia.com/object/macosx-313.01.03f01-driver.html. Also
I checked and my CUDA is 5.5.25- not sure what I had before, but I wasn't up to date on that.

Do you guys actually notice a difference between the built-in OS X drivers and the Nvidia web drivers?

can you upload your kexts?

NVDAResmanWeb.kext
GeForceGLDriverWeb.bundle
NVDANV50HalWeb.kext
NVDAStartup.kext
GeForceGAWeb.plugin
GeForceWeb.kext
NVDAGF100HalWeb.kext
GeForceVADriverWeb.bundle
NVDAGK100HalWeb.kext

and

NVIDIA Driver Manager.prefPane

i'll try to install it manually. i've some problems with my gtx660.

thanks

After the update i got no video...

Any1 knows the workaround?

I'v tried GraphicsEnabler=0/1 , PCIRootUID=0/1 -v -x -c etc...

Thanks!
The 10.8.5 driver is now also available on nvidea Website.
But the driver isnt working. After restart it switches back to the osx driver

Are you sure? The setting is controlled by the item in your boot.plist:
<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>nvda_drv=1</string>
to enable the "web driver" (0 to use Apple's drivers)

When I look at my extensions (via System Information) I see:
Screen Shot 1.png (Apple extensions)
or
Screen Shot 2.png (nVidia web extensions)

I suspect that the nVidia pref pane (and the menu item) might not report reliably on a hack. Have a look at the loaded extensions.

Every restart switch to OSX Driver? I dont know why? My plist already look like;

<key>EthernetBuiltIn</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>GenerateCStates</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>GeneratePStates</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
<string>No</string>
<key>Kernel</key>
<string>mach_kernel</string>
<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>darkwake=0 nvda_drv=1</string>
<key>Legacy Logo</key>
<string>Yes</string>
<key>Theme</key>
<string>Fume Leon</string>
<key>Timeout</key>
<string>2</string>
<key>UseKernelCache</key>
<string>Yes</string>
