By the way, GPU Driver Version shows always : 8.10.44 304.10.65f03 so i don't know if everything is installed from the pack, even if we re-name it to .pkg.

OS: Mountain Lion 10.8.3
Boot loader: Chimera v2.0.1
CPU: Intel i7 960 (3.30GHz) Quad-Core
MB: Gigabyte x58a-ud3r r2 (Bios FF)
Graphics: nVidia GeForce GTS 450 OC (1GB) DDR5
Ram: Corsair 6GB DDR3 (1600mhz)
HD: Intel SSD 520 Series 240GB
Monitor: Sony Bravia 1920 x 1080 - (42 Zoll)

After changing "WebDriver-313.01.01f03.dmg" to "WebDriver-313.01.01f03.pkg" the installation went fine. REMEMBER "Supported are Mac Pro 5,1 - 4,1 & 3,1 !!!!"

Bad News, I already had a freeze after 4Min.

And now tho the new driver itself:
Now i have a panel on the right in the Menu bar and in the System Preferences settings to.
Sadly, i can't change the Drivers, it always remains on OS X Default Driver.
If i look in System Preferences which version is installed it shows me " 8.10.44 304.10.65f03" those are the official drivers from OSX 10.8.3 not the new one from nvidia.
The New Drivers (kext) where installed fine, i can see it in System/Extensions Folder.

I changed and restarted the machine already 4-5 Times but it remains always on the Default OS X driver. HHMM?????

So If anyone knows what goes on whit this crappy new ****, please let Us Know.

Try this:

- Click on the lock in the lower left corner of the pref. panel
- Type password
- The graphic driver unlocks
- Click NVIDIA Web Driver
- Reboot

Worked for me!

Any noticeable changes in performance anywhere? E.g, in Photoshop CS6 ;-)

No this is for 10.8.3 only, as an alternative to the standard 10.8.3 drivers provided by Apple.

Interestingly, they not only install separately, they even give you a menubar and system preferences pane now to switch between drivers.

When the "NVIDIA Web Driver" is selected in the menu, it adds "nvda_drv=1" to boot-args into the NVRAM (check this with nvram -p), however, on a hack we don't have a true NVRAM, so when you reboot the NVIDIA Web Drivers are not loaded. One has to manually add nvda_drv=1 to the boot args. I did this and now I am running using the Nvidia web drivers.

BTW, I am using a GT 530 oem card.

You need to add "nvda_drv=1" to boot args and reboot. Then you will be running on the new driver. NVDAGF100HalWeb 8.14.11 (313.01.01f03)

Works brilliantly with GTX 650! However... wherever I try to use the NVIDIA driver from the Driver Manager, the system restarts and defaults to the OSX Driver... why is that?
