Just to let you all know- the official page is up on NVIDIA's site- i fixed the direct link to this one:

Make sure you use Mac Pro system definition to make the installer work. MacPro3,1 is the most basic and stable to switch to temporarily if you are on a different system definition. MacPro4,1 and 5,1 may cause errors due to lack of ECC RAM.

My graphics card is GeForce 780 Ti. It works as well. The only problem was that I couldn't use my monitor Dell UP2414q at
  • 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz refresh rate
Why? Because the smbios is for Mac Pro 3,1. Mac Pro 3,1 doesn't support 4k at 60 Hz refresh rate.

So I used a smbios for Mac Pro 6,1. It is working now! I can use Dell UP2414q at 4K and at 60 Hz refresh rate.

Well, I've got a problem now. ASUS X79 board, with Titan Black card (system type Mac Pro 5.1). Was all working great in 10.9.5 with the Nvidia web driver.

Did a clean Yosemite install via Unibeast, and generic Radeon card. No problems. Then I install the latest Nvidia Web Driver. Shut down. Install Titan Black card, and reboot. The reboot hangs now on "Still Waiting for root device"....

Wonder what this driver breaks when installed? Any ideas what may have happened?

NVIDIA has released their alternate graphics drivers for OS X Yosemite 10.10.0 These are separate from the drivers Apple ships as standard, and should be considered experimental. These drivers have been known to solve OpenCL issues with certain applications, as well as providing better native GPU power management for certain devices.

NOTE: These drivers are currently the only method to get full acceleration for NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750, 750Ti, 970, and 980 'Maxwell' graphics cards. There are no current Macs with these cards, so support is absent natively in OS X.

If you've installed the drivers before, you may get a notification to update to the 10.10.0 drivers from the built in System Preferences pane.

How to Install the Web Drivers:
In order to flag the alternate drivers on a CustoMac using Chameleon/Chimera, you must install the package and also add the flag manually to the chameleon.org.Boot.plist. If you use Clover, you can toggle back and forth using the standard menubar or system preference pane.

1. Open Finder
2. Navigate to /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist
3. Open in TextEdit
4. Add nvda_drv=1 to Kernel Flags as shown:

Example Usage:

Code:
<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>nvda_drv=1</string>
5. Save and reboot

You should be on the new NVIDIA drivers. :)

Hey guys, I have a smaller issue that my Graphic Card isn't recognised. I have Asus Rampage II Extreme setup where everything else is working quite good. My Graphic card is an ASUS GTX 970 Striker with 4 gb and only 3 gb are recognised and the card is Unknown Type. Is there are fix for this or should i not worry about this?

Second thing is that this card automatically turn off the fan at low usage, but I haven't seen the fans on at any time. So should I be worried that the control of the fans isn't working. The fans don't turn on in Win either at idle so maybe its normal.

Last issue I have that I haven't solved yet is that I can't update any of my software through Apple Store because it says my device is not verified.

I have done the step activating the driver from this post but that didn't really help anything. I think it was already working fine. In Cinebench R15 my card comes out as my Macbook Pro Retina GT 650M. So a bit lower than expected

Guys, do you have graphics power Management with this drivers ? My gtx770 stays at 1.07 GHz, just like im Mavericks before 10.9.3, if i open any opengl apps (Preview)
When I sued this new nvidia driver its causes openCL problem (GPU didn't slow down after opening an image in preview), back to official drivers, problem solved.
My card is Evga GTX770 2G
AGPM moded.
Stuck at 1.07 GPU and 6000+Mem....
Same problem here with both the default and Nvidia drivers, even with different system definitions. Neither does the modified AGPM work.
The GPU clocks up from a low frequency to 1.08 GHz when opening Preview or Pixelmator and stays there until the application is closed.
