Nvidia gtx680 and 10.7.5 will they work together

I am running 10.7.5 with an Ati 5870 and I start getting problem it freezes with o apparent reason and does let only the mouse pointer to move but cannot click anywhere. Thinking it my be time to change it, and was wondering will a gtx680 work? what recent GPU is the most compatible one?

Used software update. KP. Dunno what to do now.
i7-3770k, Z77-DS3H, GTX680

Got worried and better be sure rather than sorry. Since I use only osx on my tonymac 2010 built really don't want to end with a card I cannot use.
On the buying list also it is said to be compatible but was warring if it was just for 10.8.2 or also for 10.7.5
