Nothing plays on TV app (blank but with control overlays showing)

  • [bios settings => intel display ENABLED]
  • RX580 sapphire pulse
  • Catalina (10.15) upgrade from Mojave (10.14)
  • Clover r5070 (no intel inject)
  • Latest kexts = [ Lilu, whatever green, FakePCI,...]
Not posting files just yet; everything is working great except when I play a TV App show (anything - free, owned, ...) it scrolls over to a BLANK screen with just the control overlays on it (10 sec back, 10 sec forward, PLAY,...) but can only close the window ('x' in upper left).

Am logged into iCloud with no problems - can play Music, iMessages, Facetime, etc... guessing its likely due to RX580 and display support.

Can provide more details/help debug but just fishing for other folks with the same problem first.

same issue with RX580 and 10.15.1
 
Same problem with RX-580. If I download a purchased movie or tv show, it will play. But can’t stream anything in Apple TV+.

Can you try to stream from Apple TV+ just to see if it’s possible?
That would be a big help.

It’s an app in Catalina. It’s in your dock. It says Appletv.
Just open it and click on one of their streaming shows such as “The Morning Show”.
see if You are able to stream the trailer for the show.
