no sound

I did not look at the instructions on updating to 10.9.4 I just upgraded it from the app store and everything works flawlessly except for the sound. It was only after the upgrade that I looked the instructions on this website. l installed the lated multibeast and loaded up the old settings and installations worked fine but the sound still doesn't work even after reboot. I tried TRIM patch and repair disk permissions as well none of them works. when I raise the volume the white icon does appear but nothing comes out from my speaker.
Can any of you pls help me?

btw, my audio is RealTek ALC1150

Never mind, I fixed it! Somehow, my audio output setting was not set to my speaker.
