No sound on 10.8.2

Upgraded to 10.8.2 via the app store, and now my sound inputs and outputs will not work. I have seen similar issues on the forum but have been unable to find a solution.

Must reinstall audio after every Software Update.
Try MultiBeast 5.2.1 or newer - Select/Drivers & Bootloaders/Drivers/Audio/Realtek ALC8xx/Without DSDT/ALC889

Thanks so much, it worked. Now a seemingly unrelated issue has come up. Face time and Photo Booth are not loading.
