Hello,

After I power off my monitor, if I power it on again I have a black screen.

I have it currently connected by HDMI, and reconnecting the HDMI cable does not fix it. I need to reset the computer in order to get a display again.

I am using the HD Graphics 630 of an i7-7700k, with the fixes from this post: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...cpus-200-series-motherboards-in-macos.211743/

Any ideas or anything I can try?

Thanks.

@EduAlmeida, please update your profile (personal details) with your build (Motherboard, CPU and Graphics Card).

I don't believe hot plugging the monitor works with the HD530 so I wouldn't expect it to work with the HD630 either.

I wasn't aware of that. So, I can never turn off my monitor? :p I guess I can work with that, but I'd love it if there was any workaround that would allow me to do just that.

Hi EduAlmeida,

I have the same issue with HD 530 in Sierra. I open a post to found a fix:

https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/loose-screen-after-turning-off-tv-with-hd-530-sierra.214602/

But we still waiting for a solution.

Have you tested if it happens with DVI? I can't do it cause my TV only has HDMI's.

Thanks!

My monitor only has HDMI, but I am getting a 4K one, and I'll try hooking it up by DP and I'll let you know of what happens.

Here's my response to the same issue in a different thread:
Have a look here: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-workaround-using-intel-hd530-with-dual-monitors.214125/

Hotplugging my HDMI port works fine after patching the connector type. Doesn't work on DVI though.

In your case there's an easier method though: I usually put my display to sleep using Ctrl + Shift + Eject. It should work fine even when hotplugging is broken as it's just software. It also won't sleep the computer, just the display.

I have the same issue .
10.12.4 + GA-H270M-D3G + F2 BIOS + HD630

@gyf I'd suggest getting a dedicated GPU (like the new nvidia 10-series, that now work under macOS), since sleep works there.
