I've been using a USB WiFi Adapter, but I started getting the GUID error in the App Store since updating to 10.6.8.
I read it another thread that the App Store looks for on board ethernet, but have so far been unable to get my PCI card recognized.
System Utilities -> Ethernet Cards shows "This computer does not appear to have any PCI Ethernet cards installed."
I've tried installing both Lnx2Mac's Realtek 81xx Ethernet Controller and the Official Realtek 2.0.6 driver for 81xx Ethernet controllers to no avail.
After installing the Official Realtek driver, I checked /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIn and it didn't look like there were any new kexts after restarting. Issue?
After installing the Lnx2Mac driver, the kext shows up in /System/Library/Extensions, but still no Ethernet card showing in System Utilities :[
Any suggestions? System specs in my signature.
