No network on board or PCI

Just did a Snow Leopard install following the 10.6 guide on a GA-Z77-Ds3H motherboard once installed wanted to download the latest update so i could get Mountain lion. No network from the wire, so i installed the TP-Link TL-WDN4800 card i bought from the recommended build guide. I still get nothing, Am i missing something? any help would be appreciated.

I figured it out. I needed to do the update using Windows and a usb drive, put usb in SL PC/ Hackintosh then Install it on SL then SL recognized the TP-Link TL-WDN4800 Card. Now im on to the update.
