No native resolution on Sparkle Nvidia 9800 GT!!!

For some reason, whenever I try to set my native resolution, is won't detect. I'm on 1024x728. It is WAY to big. I rebooted and it detected my native resolution. I reinstalled because of a some driver issue, and now it won't detect my native resolution!! I have absolutely no idea of what is going on. I tried reinstalling AGAIN. I didn't know if it worked or not, because it never started up. I'm going to reinstall yet another time, but I'm guessing it won't work. Also, my friend told me not to install any drivers from my . Is he correct, or do I need some drivers?


And, yes, I probably ransacked google of it's bandwidth searching.

Did you use your purchased retail Snow Leopard Upgrade disc for the install?

Yes, I tried retail, and it worked. I recently reinstalled using that retail disc. My resolution is still high, though.
