Ignore the CMOS error.

I wish i could but cmos checksum error happens at the end of phase 2 of installation.
then system reboots.

You're going to need to provide details. Where is this error coming from? Post photo.

Hi !

Thanks very much again for your help
I now have El Capitan up and running stable on my HP Elitebook 820 G1.

Remaining Issues =>

1/ USB : I have 3 USB 3.0 ports on the laptop / only the 1 located on the left side of the computer works / the 2 others dont work at all.

2/ Wifi/Bluetooth : Since the Half PCI Wifi card originally mounted on the laptop is not compatible, I ordered a new one from Ebay =>
[h=1]867Mbps Broadcom BCM4352 BCM94352HMB Wifi+BT Mini PCI-E 802.11ac 2.4+5Ghz ABG/N[/h]
If I correctly understood, this one is comptable but won't run "out of the box" => some set up needs to be done, right?

Thanks very much again for your help

Cheers

Followed this thread and was able to get OS X installed on my Elitebook 820 G1 (See signature for specs)

I however used Probook Installer to complete installation. After that everything worked except Audio, All USB Ports and Media Card Reader.

Audio got fixed with the right kext, same one as the 470 G2 uses.

USB Ports got fixed with USBInject.kext

Media Card does not work reason being it is a Realtek RTS5227 which after research seems like it doesnt work in OS X/

The only remaining "problem" I have is when I close the lid or the laptop goes into sleep mode and wake it then sits with this flashing pixels almost, want to say distorted screen but is not really as I can still work on it, but if you look closely the image/pixels are flashing, when restarting it is fine again but as soon as it is awake from sleep mode is when it happens.

iMessage also still needs some work in working.

Download patchmatic: https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/os-x-maciasl-patchmatic/downloads/RehabMan-patchmatic-2015-0107.zip
Extract the 'patchmatic' binary from the ZIP. Copy it to /usr/bin, such that you have the binary at /usr/bin/patchmatic.

In terminal,
Code:
if [ -d ~/Downloads/RehabMan ]; then rm -R ~/Downloads/RehabMan; fi
mkdir ~/Downloads/RehabMan
cd ~/Downloads/RehabMan
patchmatic -extract

Note: It is easier if you use copy/paste instead of typing the commands manually.

Post contents of Downloads/RehabMan directory (as ZIP).

Also, post ioreg: http://www.tonymacx86.com/audio/58368-guide-how-make-copy-ioreg.html. Please, use the IORegistryExplorer v2.1 attached to the post! DO NOT reply with an ioreg from any other version of IORegistryExplorer.app.

And output from:
Code:
kextstat|grep -y acpiplat
kextstat|grep -y appleintelcpu
kextstat|grep -y applelpc

Also, post EFI/Clover folder (press F4 at main Clover screen before collecting). Please eliminate 'themes' directory, especially if you have an overabundance of themes installed.

Also post output of:
Code:
sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions && sudo kextcache -u /

iMessage also still needs some work in working.
