2. Yosemite 10.10/GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD5H w/ F14 BIOS/Intel 3770/Intel i7-3770k/NVidia GTX670

I hope that's everything. Thanks in advance!

I did see post #1, that's how I got here. Under "No Codec" I followed your instructions:

Verify

  1. Boot flag: -x?, disables audio: VERIFIED, not using -x
  2. Boot Installer USB?, disables audio: VERIFIED, booting off install on SSD
  3. BIOS/Peripherals/HD Audio/disabled?, disables audio: VERIFIED, as I said it works on other OS installs (mavericks and windows 8.1) on same machine
  4. Reset codec: TRIED THIS. No effect.
  5. Defective codec? What does this mean?
  6. Linux/Windows audio? Yes. And Mavericks audio.
  7. RMA mother board? There are no problems with the motherboard. (See above.)
DPCIManager/Status/Codec ID and Revision

  1. If Codec ID is blank, OS X audio is not possible
  2. See II. Problem Reporting - That's why I reported my problem per section II of your post.

Thanks again, hope you can give this a second look.

Sorry I don't have all the info yet but wanted to post this just in case anyone had a quick idea of what audio options to choose on install. I had this working in Mavericks and re-used the same Multibeast config file. When I loaded the old config file into Multibeast 7, it gave me the following warnings:

Packages with newer versions (seems to be no big deal):
FakeSMC v6.0.1123 => FakeSMC v6.11.1328
Chimera v2.2.1 => Chimera v4.0.0

Packages that are no longer available:
Drivers > Audio > Realtek ALCxxx > Without DSDT > HDAEnabler
Drivers > Network > Intel > AppleIntelE1000e v3.0.4

My audio choice that worked in Mavericks was ALC889. I'll try and get the remaining info when I get home. Thanks for any help.

  1. No audio devices in Yosemite (worked in Mavericks)
  2. OSX Yosemite / Intel DX58SO / SOX5810J.86A.5600.2013.0729.2250 / Intel i7 920 / ATI HD 5770

What worked in Mavericks?

ALC892 installation from Unibeast 6.4.2. It continues to work, I can boot into into now. The AppleHDA.kext from that installation is your v. 2.6.3-toledaALC892, and here is the boot.plist (attached)

Tried all 3 method on top of each other, may not be repairable.
For cloverALC, delete S/L/E/AppleHDA898.kext. restart and reply with all files.

I'm not sure I follow. What did I do wrong?

Hello toleda, thank you for taking the time to help all of us.

Standard gig here, no sound, no devices. Been trying to get it going for two days on my own, now am sucking it up and asking a pro. Here is the scoop:

Info Requested:
-Gigabyte Z78-UH5D (898 chip)
- Yosemite 10.10
- Installed using the main installation guide, went well without a hitch. (
http://www.tonymacx86.com/445-unibeast-install-os-x-yosemite-any-supported-intel-based-pc.html)

I am able to get devices by installing the mountain lion voodoo drivers, but they play so low I cannot hear anything. I have since removed them and gone back to the standard MultiBeast 7 installation method.

All requested files are attached.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
