when I run the script, I get this, and the kext disappears on running script or on restart
Never a good idea to install audio with 2 different methods.
Install MultiBeast, full stop
Install cloverALC, full stop

I'm so stuck I don't even know what to post everything went so smooth.

EVERYTHING works except the sound.

I get the following error when I try to run the patch :(

Error: no IOReg/HDEF; BIOS/audio/disabled or ACPI problem

Do I have to update the bios? Audio's enabled in the bios

II. Problem Reporting/12. Clover missing, attach

Hi toleda! Thanks for responding. I am not sure what you are referring to. Can you please explain. I saw a config.list file that I edited at one point to try and fix this. I am attaching it here, in case that is what you're asking.

FYI Come to think of it. In looking for the config.plist file, I saw that there are multiple instances of CLOVER folders in parent folders with different dates. (maybe thats where I went wrong)

If this config.plist file from the Clover installation is not what you wanted please "explain like I'm 5" and I will get attach the whatever file you are asking for per your instructions.

Thank you!

Your codec is ALC885; ALC889 is installed. Try:
MultiBeast > Drivers > Audio > RealtekALCxxx √ ALC885

Hey. Thanks again for the quick reply. I did as you asked.

I actually installed that driver a few times already and it hasn't worked. It is called "ALC885/ ALC889A" in multibeast. and DPCI manager shows the name as "ALC889A". Do you think I have multiple installations of it? attached is a screenshot of the multibeast selection.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that there are still no audio devices under system preferences after restarting the computer. Please let me know how to proceed when you get a chance. Good night!
