Just did an install of OSX Sierra on my Mac Pro - 3,1. Using my old card (8800GT) the OSX works fine. I recently purchased an XFX 460, 4gb. I have read that this was plug and play with the recent changes to Sierra. However, now when I use the 460 it's not sending a signal to my monitor (I've tried an HP DVI monitor & HDMI monitor). The system chimes, appears to boot, but no boot screen or signal. I have tried using the 6-pin connector and not using the 6 pin connector. Nothing either way. The card is installed correctly, fans spin, red light on card with no 6pin connection / blue light with 6pin connected. I have not gone any further, ie. making changes to the kext files. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The Gigabyte and Sapphire RX 460 cards are reported working, I tried a XFX RX 460 with no luck early on in the sierra beta releases. It may be the card or your Mac Pro 3.1 system definition. There is a cutoff for Sierra iMac 14.2, and Mac Pro 5.1 are currently being used in Sierra. Is this a real Mac?

XFX, Sapphire, Powercooler, MSI, ASUS and HIS RX 480 cards are all reported working and the Gigabyte RX 480 has not been solved.

Both cards are in the machine now. The Nvidia 8800GT is working correctly, and obviously has to use the 6 pin connector. The 460 is on, fans spinning, red light on ...

I'm using my other computer to write this. Sorry, what does "OOB" mean?? And can you please explain further on the black screen issue?

Gonna post this here as well: Need some help :(

Ok, have a new problem.

So I installed Clover, and the configurator on to my OSX start-up disk. Played around with the configurator, but never saved anything. Ended up deleting clover and config. app to pursue some other ideas. I removed the 8800GT card, and just left the RX 460 in place with the 6-pin connected.

I started the machine, and to my surprise it now boots to the Clover screen??? Not sure what to think of this ... I guess good, because the card is working and clover can discover the card by name. BUT, if I try to load into Sierra, the screen goes black, then a bunch of dos like info scrolls, followed by a boot chime, right back to clover. So I can't get to Sierra now.

I have no idea how to configure the settings though ... and need some help please :)

Pics of what I see:

That was my thought too. But I'm stuck now (at least I don't know what to do) ... When I power on the machine ... it directly goes to the Clover screen ... then I select the HD with Sierra, and it will NOT boot to it. Just restarts, and I end up back to the clover screen :( ... what should I do??
