Thank you for providing this! This new driver fixed two problems I was experiencing:
1. Bonjour appears to work correctly now - other devices on the network are discovered immediately in finder.
2. There was a bug that I've seen other reporting here in which a large transfer of data over the network device would make the network simply 'die'. Nothing would ping out to the network and renewing DHCP would result in the generic 'I can't give you anything' IP address.

For reference:

  1. Mainboard: ASRock Z77 Pro3
  2. CPU: Intel i5 (the 3.4GHz one that everyone is buying these days)
  3. OS X version: 10.8.2
  4. Version of the Realtek chip: RTL8168E-VL/8111E-VL: (Chipset 16) at 0xffffff80f0f85000

  • Added support for RTL8111B and RTL8168B. Please keep in mind that the code for these devices is untested as I don't have access to a mainboard/add-on card with one of these chips.

I have an old 8111b card. (Sonnet Presto Basic PCIe).

The interface will not acquire ip. If I restart the computer, the driver will not see the interface anymore until I power down cycle.

Hello VM,

that's impossible, there must be more debug information or the driver would have never reached the state where it established a link like you showed me in your last post. Check all kernel messages and uncomment all DebugLog() calls that are disabled in order to get more infos. I'm almost blind without these infos. Maybe you should mail me the logs as this doesn't impose the restrictions of the forum.

Hi Mieze,

I removed my lnx2mac kext and am using your 26th Feb precompiled version on a Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H rev 1.1 Board. Right now I'm having connection issues after sleep with your driver. I'm losing connection just like I did with the lnx2mac kext. I appended the debuglog after the sleep-resume.

Hey Mieze great work. Very thankful that you made a replacement to Lnx2mac's abandoned driver.

Ran into a bug in your driver. For some reason I can't load developer.apple.com
I can ping developer.apple.com, and apple.com loads fine, just not the developer site.

I didn't think it had to do with your driver, but another computer connected to the router works fine
and it also works fine if I reinstall lnx2mac's driver.

Let me know if you need any more info to figure out why getPhysicalSegmentsWithCoalesce() fails
