Has anyone else noticed how much the 2006-2013 Mac Pro prices have plummeted now that the new black cylinder is announced?
Being able to buy a used Mac Pro 3,1 for around $500 really takes some of the steam out of the motivation to build a hackintosh. I'm certainly going to waste no more time troubleshooting my i5-2550K build now that a nice used 8-core Mac Pro 3,1 is on the way.
I just built my hackintosh a couple months ago. I did use hand-me-down components from my main windows desktop (which got a nice upgrade). I do wish I had waited: could have saved some money and a lot of time.
something to think about if you just want something inexpensive that works.
