Dear guys.

My old motherboard (Gigabyte SKT-1155 Z77X-UD5H Motherboard) has died and I can't find any other motherboard with socket 1155 to buy, so I think it's time to renew the hackintosh.

This is what I'd like to buy:

Motherboard:
Gigabyte GAZ170GM3-EU-G - Placa base, Socket 1151 DDR4 ATX (GA-Z170X-Gaming 3-EU)
https://www.amazon.es/dp/B013E37MD2/?tag=tonymacx86c03-21

Processor:
Intel BX80662I56400 - Procesador Intel Core i5-6400
https://www.amazon.es/dp/B010T6CG7E/?tag=tonymacx86c03-21

Cooler: I'm looking for a super-silent one, so I've find this ones:
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo
https://www.amazon.es/dp/B0068OI7T8/?tag=tonymacx86c03-21

Cooler Master Hyper 612 V2 - Ventilador de CPU (1300 rpm, 11-20 dB)
https://www.amazon.es/dp/B00PJSFR7Y/?tag=tonymacx86c03-21

Memory: I'm not sure wich one will be better. I've this two choices:
Crucial 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR4 2133 MT/s
https://www.amazon.es/dp/B00MMLUYQK/?tag=tonymacx86c03-21

HyperX Fury HX421C14FBK2/16 Memoria RAM (16 GB kit, 2x8 GB) 2133MHz DDR4 Non-ECC CL14 UDIMM (compatible con Skylake)
https://www.amazon.es/dp/B00TY6A1LY/?tag=tonymacx86c03-21

Graphics:
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 Ti OC 4G GV-N105TOC-4GD
https://www.amazon.es/dp/B01MEHGRMS/?tag=tonymacx86c03-21

Will I be able to get this to work?

Thank you!

One other option you have is to put your I7 into an HP 6300 or 8300. They will also be able to utilize the 1050 Ti 4GB GPU. Works with the Nvidia web drivers and the included PSU. For that specific Gigabyte dual fan GPU you'd want the 8300 mini-tower.

An I7-3770 actually performs better in most categories compared to the I5-6400. So you could save a lot of money on the build.

Dear trs96.

Thank you for your fast response.

I've found this one at Amazon's Spanish store (I can't find any other one):

https://www.amazon.es/dp/B01HSDXHI8/?tag=tonymacx86c03-21

I don't know if it's the correct one, but it costs 343€ (more that 190$). I do not know if it's worth it for that price and if I'll be able to use the 1050 graphics card indicated above.

Could I use the HP compaq 6300 (190€):

https://www.amazon.es/dp/B009PHWGJW/?tag=tonymacx86c03-21

And the recommended nVidia 1050 with one fan?

https://www.amazon.es/dp/B01M6ZANMP/?tag=tonymacx86c03-21

My intention is to install Mac OS Sierra and use Unreal Engine 4, video editing (FCP and Premiere), converto some video with Handbrake and play some games from Mac OS.

Could you help me?

Thank you and best regards.

Hi again.

Thank you for the Ebay link!

I only want to be sure that I don't give you any wrong info.

This is the actual hardware to be re-used:

CPU: Intel 3rd Generation Core i7-3770K CPU (4 x 3.50GHz, Ivy Bridge, Socket 1155, 8Mb L3 Cache, Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0)

Memory: Corsair CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9B 16GB (4x4GB) 1600MHz CL9 DDR3 Vengeance Blu Memory Four Module Kit

GPU (to be used initially): EVGA, GeForce GTX 560 Ti Superclocked 1024MB Graphics Card PCI-E DVI Mini-HDMI

So i'll be able to use all in the HP tower and later, I'll be able to use the "desired" GPU:

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 Ti OC 4G GV-N105TOC-4GD
https://www.amazon.es/dp/B01MEHGRMS/?tag=tonymacx86c03-21

Am I right?

Thank you for everything and sorry for my insistence.

If you go with a 6300 mini-tower it's best to use this :https://www.amazon.es/dp/B01M6ZANMP/?tag=tonymacx86c03-21 The dual fan version is too long to clear the heatsink. If your 560 Ti requires a 6 pin supplemental power connection you won't be able to use that. I think the Corsair memory will work but I have not used that specific brand. You'll have to try it out. The I7-3770K should work, you just can't overclock it in one of these.

Hello again.

Finally the HP's (I bought 2: SSF and mini-tower) and Gigabyte 1050 Ti are here!! I cleaned a little and changed the processor to the I7 and the memory and it's up and running.

I've discovered that 1050 Ti doesn't work with El capitan, so I installed Sierra and I'm migrating all data. Apparently works fine (at least Unreal Engine 4, that uses "metal", works. So I suppose it's working as expected).

I've discovered that the fan of the 1050 Ti is not working all the time (in Windows and in Mac OS). I suppose that it's the expected behaviour, but I commet here just in case.

Soundcard is not recognized. I still not follow the step "Step 9. Enable HDMI Audio and Analog Audio" on the guide, but I supose it should work with that kernel extensions.

Thank you!

The fan of the 1050 Ti is not supposed to spin up till the GPU reaches a minimum temperature. Sound will work if you follow step 9 of the guide. Post any further questions or comments in the HP 6300/8300 thread in Sierra Desktop Guides.

Hello.

I'll put the questions about sound in the HP 6300/8300 thread in Sierra Desktop Guides.

Thank you for everything! :)
