Hello,
This is my first attempt at Hackintosh setup. Please be gentle if I've missed something.

Machine is Lenovo T450s, i7-5600, built in HD 5500 graphics, Intel SSD PRO 2500 6G SATA + ZTC Armor M.2 NGFF 6G SATA drives.

I am not able to boot MacOS Installer from USB stick. Clover boots fine every time. When I try to run OSX installer I am getting 'EB' errors (does this mean EFI boot?). I get the same error no matter what I try. It happens bootings from any of the 3 USB ports using 2 different SanDisk 16 G USB sticks (one at a time). USB sticks were built on genuine Macbook Pro running Catalina. Clover is 5079.

1. I followed this guide: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093. I built the image using 2 partitions and createinstallmedia.

2. Apparently, Catalina can be compatible with T450. I tried using the EFI folder from this install: https://github.com/jsassu20/Lenovo-ThinkPad-T450-macOS-Catalina on a single partition USB.

If I try to boot to single user mode I briefly get an Apple logo followed by a prohibition sign forever.

Attached are a photo of the error screen and my EFI/CLOVER folder.

I found a solution to the same errors with an OpenCore install: https://github.com/acidanthera/bugtracker/issues/762. The solution there was to disable RebuildAppleMemoryMap and enable SetupVirtualMap, but I am not sure what the equivalent operations are in Clover.

If anyone knows how to fix this I would really appreciate the guidance and any explanation about the errors.

thanks,
Tim
:)

Hello moderators,

Should this post really be in the BIOS/UEFI forum since it is an early boot failure? If so, can someone move it or tell me how to? Or should I open a new thread there?

many thanks,
Tim

Hello, Did you found the error?

Start from GITHUB EFI file is too easy and fast. But not always work. I use them to check options for configuration.
I think its better follow the guide, and built your usb stick. When finish compare kext files and config.plist.

I usually mix them. new config.plist will work
Other thing you can try is update clover on your stick

I've got the same Clover screen on Lenovo ThinkBook 15-IIL (i7 1065G7). I tried boot by OpenCore with mix different values for RebuildAppleMemoryMap and SetupVirtualMap, but no way, I cannot get installation screen. Also for Clover I tried all memory fix drivers.
I have theory that my NVMe ssd PM991 (MZALQ256HAJD) or DDR4 Hynix HMA81GS6JJR8N is reason of boot problem and I going to upgrade them any way and try again.

Samsungs PM991 is indeed highly problematic with Hackintosh. Get another drive and you will be fine. Even Firmware updates didn't fix the panics on my PM991.
