I just finished my second Hackintosh build based on the components listed on the CustoMac Pro page (http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/search/label/CustoMac). I get a Boot0: error when trying to boot from the Barracuda 500GB HD, but can get in by booting from the iboot CD. Once in OSX I updated to 10.6.8 without any issues, however the audio is acting strange with very distorted sound and under the "About this Mac" screen it only shows 4GB of RAM even though I have 8 installed. Could these two issue be caused by having to boot from iboot rather than the drive? I read a post somewhere that said audio can be a problem if the system is booted from iboot rather than the HD. Not sure about the 4GB thing though.

The iBoot disc only allows 4GB of available memory.

Once, you can boot off the HDD your 8GB of memory will be available.

What brand of Barracuda do you have?

Try the standalone Chimera installer.

Re: new build only shows 4GB of RAM [SOLVED]

It is the 500GB Barracuda listed on the CustoMac Pro build page. (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 02415&SID=)
I tried everything to get rid of the boot0: error. Finally dug up an old HD I had from 2006, installed on that and everything worked without any issues. Wonder if that recommended HD should be changed?
