New build (first time)

I work primarily with editing HD video footage and have been thinking about upgrading my system, but have not got the funds available to purchase a Mac Pro at a decent enough spec., so a friend of mine recommended I look into building a hackintosh.

I am entirely new to this and would appreciate any and all help.
My budget is around £1200.

These are the parts I'm looking into at the moment;

Mobo: ASUS P8P67
CPU: Intel Core i7-2600k 3.40 GHz
GPU: Radeon HD 6870
PSU: Fractal Design Newton R2 650W
Optical Drive: Sony AD-7261S-0B
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB

PCI Card: LaCie Firewire 800

Western Digital 2TB Caviar Black
OCZ Vertex 2 60GB SATA II
