Thanks for the suggestion. Based on your feedback, I did more research and found some good prices online.

I am thinking about using Gigabyte GA-Z170MX-Gaming 5 as my motherboard. And EVGA GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0 for the graphics card. What do you think? A decent future proof hackintosh perhaps?
Should last you 5-10 years as long as you do not overclock it too high and wear out the CPU.

I get greedy as I further research on parts. I think its best to build a future proof hackintosh, so I decided to go with the followings.

Mobo: Still undecided most likely [Gigabyte GA-Z170MX-Gaming 5]
Ram: Still undecided most likely [Cruicial Ballistix Sport LT 16Gb (possible upgrade to 32gb)]
CPU: Intel core i7-6700K [$300]
CPU Cooler: Corsair H60 (Water) [$60]
SSD: Crucial MX300 750gb SSD [$100]
GPU: Still undecided most likely [refurbished EVGA Geforce GTX 970 SSC Gaming ACX 2.0+ - $200]
Power: Still undecided [leaning towards Corsaid RM 650x Watt] (What other choice do I have?)
Case: Still undecided [Fractal design - $70 OR http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...&cm_re=full_tower_case-_-11-517-038-_-Product - $100]
Wifi/Bluetooth: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007GFX0PY/?tag=tonymacx86com-20

What do you guys think? Am I heading the right way? Thanks!

Hello samjcg,
You put together a great list. Definitely heading in the right direction!

Wouldn't have been able to without you guys' help! Thanks! I will keep searching and update for more advice!!!

Thanks for the black friday deals. I managed to find a very good deal for my graphics card (EVGA GTX 980 Ti Classified for $320)
Here is my updated list.

Mobo: Still undecided most likely [Gigabyte GA-Z170MX-Gaming 5 - ~$120]
Ram: Still undecided most likely [Cruicial Ballistix Sport LT 16Gb - $90 (possible upgrade to 32gb)]
CPU: Intel core i7-6700K [$300]
CPU Cooler: Corsair H60 (Water) [$60]
SSD: Crucial MX300 750gb SSD [$100]
GPU: EVGA GTX 980 Ti Classified [$320]
Power: Refurbished Corsair RM650 [$70]
Case: Still undecided [Fractal design - $70 OR http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...&cm_re=full_tower_case-_-11-517-038-_-Product - $100]
Wifi/Bluetooth: Still undecided but I will most likely get a Bluetooth 4.0 adapter [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007GFX0PY/?tag=tonymacx86com-20 - $11]

In total, looks like my entire build would cost ~$1170. Looking at the value, is this a good build? Advice appreciated. Thank you!

Also, what Mobo is recommended given my specs?

Thanks!

Great list. I see you were able to get that Crucial 750GB on sale! I missed it . Everything looks good except one thing. I've read before to stay away from Refurbished PSU. I read it can be problematic. Good luck!

At this point, I don't even know why I got a refub PSU.... Had no idea I would be spending this MUCH MONEY!!!! lol. Thank you so much aztlan78. I will keep that in mind and will try to look for some PSU deals.

I was also wondering, why are there only limited PSU listed under the "buyer's guide"? Isn't this pretty much universal?

Hello, yes, I believe it is. I've used Corsair, Fractal Design, even a PicoPSU.

Hi guys,

Getting a bit confused on the PSU. I check on the Rosewill Photon-650 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182322) is compatible with my build but I just want to double check on this forum. Please let me know if this doesn't work or if I should stick with Corsair as indicated in the buyer's guide. Thanks!

Hello samjcg,
Sorry for the confusion. The PSUs on the Buyer's Guide are PSUs that are know to work without problems. But that doesn't mean that other will not work. I use a Corsair CX430 80 Bronze in my main build. It can never be guaranteed that the PSU will work or not, but I do not see you having problems with the Rosewill Photon.
