You need working NVRAM. If you're using EmuVariableUefi-64.efi don't forget to install "RC scripts"

As for me, this method http://www.tonymacx86.com/hp-proboo...screen-using-patched-applebacklight-kext.html works better because with him when I put the monitor in sleep mode, the image (light) gradually fades away.

But with New Brightness kext, IntelBacklight.kext light fades rapidly.

In both cases the same patch DSDT with Native Backlight fix.

Also, if I do not apply Native Backlight fix in DSDT, and to use this method New Brightness kext, IntelBacklight.kext, the situation is exactly the same - the image (light) gradually fades away.

It is a trade-off. You give up smooth transitions via keyboard control vs. smooth transitions on sleep.

Updated info on patching with Backlight injector is here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capitan-laptop-support/167963-backlight-control.html

thanks for this kext ,
work perfectly on my probook 430 g2....

Some skylake feedback: backlight control works fine after inserting my hd520 device id (0x19168086) in the PCI match list of the Haswell/Broadwell handler. Are the backlight min/max/scale part of an intel specs? Just wondering if there's any changes for these new graphics chips.

Kind of expected that...

backlight pwm does not depend on any specific values. It is a generic countdown pwm.

It works great! Thank you.
By the way, can you add a new feature that the brightness can fade in or fade out when the screen is tuning on or off just like a real mac does?
