NEEED HELP!

hi, i am very new to this i only found out a couple of days ago that i could actually install os lion my im laptop.
my question is when i install os lion can i install it along side windows7 or do i need to completely reformat and partion my hdd or can i pre-create a partion in windows and install it on that.

It should work fine if you have a Lion Install USB/DVD (you can make one if you have the .dmg for Lion) too.
