I am about to order some new parts for a hackintosh build but i need some help. I need to know if my parts are all Mountain lion compatible and compatible with each other. Also this build is nearing 2000 dollars. I would like to try to swap out some of the parts with cheaper yet still good parts that are still compatible. Any ideas?

I would also like to know if all these items work OUT of Box or do i need to tweak them. Thanks

NoobofallNoobs,
The only thing I would look at is that Ram - if you not going to go 4x8gb eventualiy then you could do 4x4gb

Your parts list there includes 64 GB of RAM, in 8 ea., 8 GB modules. Did you mean to do that? You could save yourself a fair bit of change (since you indicate that budget is a constraint) by reducing this.

Yes i purposely did this. I need the 64 gigs of ram. Thats the one thing i would like to keep.

Not sure if you can cut any corrners with this as everything is cutting edge or very close to the edge of the newest tech out their and that carries a big dollar price tag .... but bang

What are you planning to do w all this horsepower....

I hope not read webpages....LOL

I plan on having both windows and Mountain lion so i can play Battlefield 3 with ultra graphics. This computer is mainly a gaming computer but it will be used for all kinds of things such as video editing with adobe after effects and running servers for minecraft.

Thats fine - and this is a killer rig
just suggest that you have a seperate HD for W7 as Dual Booting on one drive is more pain than gain,
Or use three drives

For Hack - one Mechanical Drive - 500 gb more that enough
For W7 a SSd + a Mechanical Drive for storage.

Thanks for the advice, but i really don't want to spend that much money on a ssd. Will 2x 500Gb drives be enough, one for windows and 1 for Mountain lion. Also if i do these on separate drives will the installs be the same or will i have to do them completely separate. As is when i install mac os on my pc and everything is working, how will i install windows.

also is this case big enough??
