On my Haswell system, I have been testing the stability of sleep/wake and I feel like that is pretty solid -- I had my machine running for 3 weeks with about 45 sleep/wake cycles and everything worked great. Then I had a kernel panic, which I'll post below. Then about a week later, another.

I tested my 32GB of RAM with Memtest86 and the 4 passes were perfect. I seem to notice the panics either when I'm in Chrome or when I'm away from the computer, though usually I'm doing something in a browser tab.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

When you updated from Ventura 13.2.1 to 13.3 did you also need to update Chrome?
Have you since updated your Haswell system to Ventura 13.3.1?

The first KP doesn't mention Chrome.
The second KP does mention the Chrome Helper app, triggering a GPU issue.
So the two KP's may not be related.

Have you tried using a different Browser, i.e. uninstalling Chrome and using Safari, Firefox or Orion?

Assumption, as you are running Ventura on a Haswell system with the iMacPro1,1 SMBIOS, is that you have disabled the IGPU in the bios, so it is not active in any way when running macOS.

First, thank you for your reply, @Edhawk, much appreciated! I have indeed updated to 13.3.1 and the minute I see Chrome wanting to update, I always do. You are correct in your assumption that I disabled the IGPU in the BIOS.

I remembered that in the BIOS, I had set M.I.T.\Advanced Memory Settings\Memory Enhancement Settings to "Performance". That may have caused an issue, so I set it back to "Normal" as of last Wednesday and no KP's so far, so I'll wait and see. Failing that, I will try a different browser.

Thanks again.

Well, I had another KP yesterday -- this time while in Chrome, watching a video. I will include the report below.

At this point, I'm suspecting a hardware issue, although Memtest86 is fine after 4 passes. Would there be any wisdom to getting the Pro version and running it overnight? Or would you try another browser?

I would try a different browser before looking at a hardware issue being the cause. I say this as the KP's tend to happen when you are using Chrome.

It might be worth checking out the Chrome troubleshooting/problem reporting pages, to see if this kernel panic has been raised as being an issue on macOS Ventura.

I'll be honest and state that I don't use Chrome. I tried it on a couple of Windows systems and didn't get a good feel from it, so stopped using it. Then found out is was a complete bitch to uninstall without messing up the reset of the system. So I while I have a similar system to yours I am never going to encounter this issue, as I won't be installing Chrome on one of my systems ever again.

Thanks again for your support, I will absolutely try something other than Chrome - I will try Safari next. Just had another KP in Google Helper while I was on a Zoom call and it's getting really frustrating.
