Need help updating

I'm not a super computer geek but I do repair computers for a living,I just work on hardware mainly. I would like help with updating my hackintosh. I can not get a USB to boot. I seem to run into a PCI config problem a lot. I do not care what I upgrade to just want something newer then snow leopard. I have a Dell Latitude E6400. It has an intel core 2 duo, 4gb of ram, graphics is nvidia quadro nvs 160m. ​Please someone help.

I'm not familiar with old hardware like yours, but you probably need to use some bootflags.

eg.

PCIRootUID=1
-x
GraphicsEnabler=Yes

It is a bit of a trial/error process or a google search to find what flags might be necessary for similar hardware.
