need help ! ATI mobility 4330

hi
i have dell inspiron 1564 (i5 version)
i have managed to install SL 10.6.2 and have got ethernet , wifi , audio to work
any one know a definitive way to get the graphics work .. right now the res is stuck at 1024x768
i have no idea how to get the graphics/resolution to improve , even how to edit info.plist for VESA based graphics/resolution

yes.. and then i installed pc-efi 10.X the latest one ... nothing happened
there is some thing called VESA but i have no idea how to enforce that..
can any one shine a light on that ... at this point im willing to try any thing
