Hi everyone,

I « dream » to build an Hackintosh with an old Blue & White PowerMac G3 Box to work mostly with audio/midi softwares (I’m musician), and make sometime some simple videos with Final Cut Pro.
I’m new to the Hackintosh world, but I already have made some programming and so like stuff in the past, so I’m not afraid to jump into this amazing world.

I have read many pages on this site, I tried to follow the guide that can be found here : https://www.tonymacx86.com/buyersgu...tosh-the-ultimate-buyers-guide/#CustoMac_mATX for choosing the component to buy.
I need some help to know if I don’t make any mistakes.

The Motherboard :
If I understand well, the old B&W G3 only support mATX motherboard, so I choosed this one : Asus TUF Z390M-PRO GAMING https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07HS8SD1X/?tag=tonymacx86-21

The Processor :
I hesitate between the Intel Core i9-9900K https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005404P9I/?tag=tonymacx86-21 and the Intel Core i7 9700K https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07HHN6KBZ/?tag=tonymacx86-21
Is there any difference regardless the power ?

Graphic card : Sapphire RX 580 Pulse 8GB

SSD : Samsung SSD 860 EVO 2.5" (1 To)
But, is it possible to use the Hyper M.2 X16 PCI card ?

CPU Coolers : Thermaltake Slim X3 Low Profile
https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B003VITYP0/?tag=tonymacx8607-21

PSU : Corsair CX-M 550 Watt
https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B01C3FFLZ8/?tag=tonymacx8607-21

RAM : Crucial Ballistix Sport LT BLS16G4D240FSB 2400 MHz, DDR4
https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B00UFBZOKK/?tag=tonymacx8607-21

So, thanks, if you can tell me if there is something wrong.

Best regards to you all, and take care.

You want to use a (quite hot) Intel 8 core CPU but with only a slim low profile cooler? Are you sure about that?

Otherwise the build should be compatible with MacOS Mojave / Catalina and the upcoming Big Sur.

I never opened a G3 case. You should double check that a cooler with 158mm height will fit inside. In the pictures, the case looks big so it should fit. I just bought the same cooler but (chromax-black edition) for my build :) I will use NZXT H210 case

I am also using that case and fair warning, I've not been able to get the mic working through the front panel audio jack using a pair of Apple Earpods. They work perfectly under Windows (after a driver update), but in MacOS, the mic doesn't pick up any audio. The only thing that will happens is that when the buttons are pressed, you can see a noise is registered in the sound system prefs. If you record the noise, it's just a click/beep sound. I've tried all the different layouts for my audio chip (alc1220) but couldn't get the mic to work.
