Hey folks. My mobo (Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD3H-BK) got fried in an electrical storm the other night. (won't turn on at all, even with a known-good PSU)

In an ideal world, I'd like to replace just the motherboard, and keep my cpu (Intel Core i5-4690K) and memory (DDR-3's).

I don't often build PCs so, sorry if these are somewhat dumb questions:

-How likely is it that the CPU and memory were also fried? I'd hate to get a new motherboard only to find that these are also bad.

-It seems like it's hard to find similar / identical motherboards for sale online for a reasonable price, even on ebay. Is there somewhere else I should look?

-If reusing the cpu is hopeless, can someone recommend a motherboard or motherboard / cpu combo that would allow me to at least re-use the memory? (DDR-3's)?

Thanks!

Before you do anything else try a CMOS reset.

You mean just remove the CMOS battery, right? I already did that, no luck. :(
