Hello

First my system specs:

P6T Deluxe V1
i7 920
6gb RAM
1tb SATA HDD
HD 5850

I used iBoot + Multibeast to setup my Hackintosh. I had great success.

I installed ATYinit to get my graphics card working.

I used DSDT Auto Patcher to create DSDT.aml for my motherboard and installed it with Multibeast. However - the network card didn't get initialised and sound doesn't work. Anyone know why this is?

Also - after using Multibeast to setup my machine to boot from HDD my machine panics and the fan goes mental...

I have to boot each time from iBoot.

What do I need to do to remedy this?

Any help appreciated? Is there an easier method to get everyhting working that I am missing?

Thanks

You need kext for your Network Card: try this thread, someone hot it working.

Hi

I got the network card working with a package from this iso

AsusP6TDeluxeV2_boot_132v1.15.7z.zip

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index. ... t&id=71256

Still can't get the machine to boot without iBoot. Just get a kernel panic everytime I choose SNOWLEOPARD from Chameleon.

One thing I'm not sure about is do I need ATYinit.kext for my 5850 or is this supported by 10.6.6? Does it matter if I don't need it, will it interfere with anything?? The graphics card seems to be fine.

Anyway thanks for your help

If you are using the chameleon ATI bootloader from MultiBeast you do not need ATY_init - delete it, repair permissions, rebuild caches and reboot.

Thanks for your help but I can't understand what the hell's happening here.

I removed ATY_init.

Now Booting from iBoot works every time.

However when I run MultiBeast and select the ATI bootloader I always get a crash somewhere along the line depending on the different boot options I try:

http://www.mediafire.com/imageview.php? ... it&thumb=6

http://www.mediafire.com/imageview.php? ... 7d&thumb=6

If you can make any sense of these then please let me know what to do!! I'm back in Windows for now and a little frustrated!!

I know I need to do more reading but there's a lot to learn and I only started on this project a few days ago.

Cheers for you help

OK, I see a kernel panic caused by the Voodoo HDA. What I would like you to try is to turn off the power supply if it has an on/off switch and unplug the cord, then hold down the power button on your case for about 30-45 seconds. Then plug it back in, turn on the switch and push the start button to boot up the PC. For some reason on some ASUS boards you have to have complete no power for the audio chip to initialize with VoodooHDA or it causes a crash. Let me know if this works.

Hi,

Does he have to do that every time before booting into OS X?
Just interested, because I will have to do that then, too ;)

Best regards,
Daniel

Well I've managed to mess up completely and I'm taking a break from this as I'm getting nowhere fast!!

Thought I'd remove all my extensions from extras and ran a new DSDT.aml file as I read the auto patcher created one wasn't great with P6T.

Reinstalled all the relevant kexts.

Applied a sound fix I found.

Ran MultiBeast and reset boot to ATI experimental.

Rebooted and fan came on super loud and I had to manually switch off the machine.

My brain is frazzled.

I may come back to this but at the moment I'm sticking to 7.... I only wanted to work on some projects with iMovie.... still interesting to use OSx and I've gained a bit more of an understanding of OSx.

Thanks for your help

Not every time, just the first time to initialize it. Sometimes works, sometimes don't - depends on the board.
