Hi there!
So I've used a Gigabyte GTX 560 (non Ti) for 1-2 months now and the only critical issue I have yet to solve is the random freezes I get from time to time.
What I've done so far:
1) 10.7.2 + UniBeast + Multibeast 4.2.1 (standard stuff + GF100 Fermi Patches)
btw, the Fermi patches *do* have effect, right? All the GF114 & GF110 results I find on google are confusing.
2) Added my Device ID (0x1201) to NVDAGF100Hal.kext
at this point I had full resolution
3) LuxMark threw an error so I modified libclh.dylib to allow OpenCL 2.0 like it says here viewtopic.php?t=43705&p=290908 and it compiles!
4) Adjusted AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext as follows: https://gist.github.com/7e1d95e7bc9f52dcf231
I've seen various Threshold setups in several posts but I can't really tell if I nailed the right one or if this is what's causing the freeze.
boot.plist: https://gist.github.com/8d0e2da91966060f8df2
smbios.plist: https://gist.github.com/2f037ea8b3684ed1b03e
(added the blank Graphics Mode later on but didn't feel any different)
Mkay!
Currently I get 29-30 fps in CineBench, is it good or bad for this card?
All in all I would be happy with the above but every once in a while the system freezes. I think I hear the card's cooler or something else go louder, I can still move the mouse but in the end I have to restart.
If I open up kernel.log I only see these G-state switches:
And sometimes I see: (don't know what it means)
When it crashes however I get these line repeated over and over:
Does anyone else have any insight on how the freeze might be fixed? Would really like to turn this into a guide
Cheers!
