Hi Forum,

First let me thank all you guys. I followed unibeast guide and was able to install Lion on my pretty old Asus P5E-VM HDMI with nVidia 7200 GS video card. I even found driver for network card. Only thing left is audio (ALC 883), but not big issue for now.

My issue is, I cannot boot into 64bit mode. As I know Lion by default use 64 bit, but no matter what I do, it always boot into 32bit mode. I checked extensions, they all support 64 bit (except some System6.0, Mach6.0 and so on), I checked /mach_kernel, it support 64 bit as well.

The way I install is: create unibeast USB driver, install to HDD, boot from USB again, install MultiBeast (no dml, easy beast) and reboot. And they use KextUtil install NIC driver (I checked, it support 64 bit as well).

Any idea?

Thanks

Noodle

Try installing 64-bit Apple Boot Screen in Multibeast (located under Customization->Boot Options).

This is mostly because of the video card you have. NVIDIA 7 series is not supported 64bit. I had 7600gt, only 32bit. but you can give it a try:
On chimera boot screen highlight your mac hdd and write arch=x86_64 an hit enter. this will try to boot system in 64bit, if you can reach the desktop open org.chameleon.boot.plist and remove <string>arch=i386</string> .
if it doesn't boot after arch=x86_64 just reboot your pc and boot normally.

Thanks for the information. Unfortunately, I still cannot boot into 32bit. I read somewhere said video card could be problem. So I changed to 8600 GTS. Still if I boot into 64 bit, it hangs after USBMxx. I remember I read it somewhere said that's just looking for boot device or root, probably AppleRTC? I will check again.

Yes it's the NVIDIA 7 Series problem. no 64bit support.
