Just thought i'd share this for anyone who might care. Made a comp to run PT native on.
Gigabyte GA-P67X-UD3-B3
i7-2600k
8gb 1600mhz DDR3
Geforce 7300gt (temp card)
Vertex 3 120gb system drive
Caviar black for sample libraries
Lian Li c32 case
Turns out this thing is so much faster than my 8 core mac pro (and an hd2) it's a total joke. It's quickly becoming my main work computer.
When i first built this i had it in a massive corsair tower .. now that it's transferred over into the rack mount case the cooler i had (cooler master hyper 212) won't fit. I've switched back tot he stock cooler for now and have a thermalright axp-140 on order.
10.6.8 is running perfectly. Sleep works, with no usb when it wakes but the computer boots so fast it doesn't really matter.
Still looking for the least expensive dual monitor solution that will boot in 64 bit mode. Any suggestions would be great.
