Hello everyone

I'm currently working on my PhD thesis, where I'll be doing statistics for large data sets. I need a rather fast computer. I've gotten used to programming in Mac-Os, but alas, academia does not have funding for such things. That's why I'm thinking about trying to build my first Hackintosh.

So the goal here is to have a very spartan computer for work only. No graphics cards and such. The build within my budget range looks like this

  • Intel Core i7 3770K 3.5 Ghz Ivy
  • Gigabyte H77N-WIFI
  • Samsung 840 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid-State SATA 6.0Gb/s SSD
  • Crucial 16GB kit (2x8GB) DDR3 1600MHz
  • EZ-cool K-660B ATX

Might this work?

I would greatly appreciate any inputs from the community. Please help an aimless Phd student to continue his Mac-Os experience.

All the best,
olipalli

Yep, this is fully supported hardware. You should have no trouble getting this to work.
