My first hackintosh build / System Requirements ?

Hello everyone,

This will be my first hackintosh build on a PC. I have some old computers laying around in the garage and I would like to know if they are capable of running OS-X.

1) First PC is an HP Kayak ( Intel Pentium 3, 512mb memory, 250gb hard-drive, Matrox graphic card ).

2) Second PC is an Compaq Pentium 4 Single core ( 256mb memory, 250gb hard-drive, ATI 98 graphics card ).

These are 32bit system processors.

Does OS-X only run on 64bit processors? Are there older versions of OS-X that will work?

OS X will not run on either the Pentium 3 or Pentium 4 because, as you said, they are 32-bit processors and OS X requires a 64-bit processor. I believe the minimum is a Core Duo.

The last version of OS X with 32-bit support was 10.6.x Snow Leopard.
