I intend to build my first hackintosh. The machine will function as a desktop / workstation. Purpose: Office, Safari, iTunes and photoshop. My files (movies, music etc) are stored on a seperate NAS.

I am on a budget (around €500 = $650). I was thinking of the following components:

Gigabyte GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 (mATX)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004ZBHMN8/

Intel Core i3-2125
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005L9D5X4/

Corsair Vengeance 16GB Quad Channel DDR3 Memory Kit (4x 4GB)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0067T4WC0/

OZC OCZ Agility 3 120GB SSD
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004Z0S6SO/

Fractal Design Core 1000
[amazon-uk]http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004ZH18G4/[/amazon-uk]

be quiet! Straight Power E9 400W (Gold)
[amazon-uk]http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005LUXLHS/[/amazon-uk]

Sony DVD Writer (AD-7260S)

Questions:
1) Better SSD like: Samsung-830 128 SSD (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005T3GPXE/)
or Crucial m4 CT128M4SSD2 128GB (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004W2JKZI/)

2) Other Memory?
I chose for 16gb because of photoshop / lightroom editing. Is the Corsair Vengeance 16GB Quad Channel DDR3 compatable with hackintosh?

3) i5 instead of i3
I thought i5 was out of my budget. But when i lower ram (8gb instead of 16gb). i can buy the Intel Core i5-2500K (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004EBUXHQ/) only for $30 more. Do you it is worth the change?

4) Processor cooler? Do i need one (scythe-mugen-3-rev-b)

5) Other things i might forget?

As for SSD's go you are kinda shooting in the dark they all have some of the same problems at different times so that is up to you and the forums, but as far as the RAM goes the 16 gig corsair we have listed under customac builds will be perfect for photoshop and or video editiing

Go with the Crucial. The RAM's are fine.

Then i stick with the OZC OCZ Agility 3 SSD

Unfortunatly Crucial is double the cost where i live (The Netherlands)

If i chose the i5 core option i was think of the following 8gb ram: Corsair XMS3 8 GB (2 x 4GB) 1333 MHz PC3-10666 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003N8GVUY/

And go with the i5, much better option. Usually the intel processors come with heat sinks unless you get OEM versions.

Just an fyi the standard 2500 only has HD2000 which is unsupported in OS X. The 2500K seems to have the HD3000 which is fully supported.

Nevermind, link to the cpu was a 2500K
