OK... So add another newbie to the list. I've read a bunch. Understand somewhat. I'm sure I'll make mistakes, but I'm determined.

This is what I want to build.

Motherboard - GA-X58A-UD3R
Processor - Intel Core i7 950
Graphics - 2 Gigabyte HD 5770-1 GB DDR5 (GV-R577SO-1GD) - I need to run three screens including the new 27" Cinema, my old 20" Cinema and a 20" Wacom Cintiq.
12Gigs RAM - Either the Corsair Dominator 12 GB 1600 MHz PC3-12800 240-Pin DDR3 Memory Kit CMP12GX3M3A1600C9 - OR - 2 of the OCZ OCZ3G1600LV6GK DDR3 PC3-12800 1600 MHz Gold XTC 6GB Triple Channel Kits (Any preferences? Do I need that much/fast RAM - for heavy graphics and heavy video editing use. Or is it overkill?)
DVD Burner - Lite-On LightScribe 24X SATA DVD+/-RW Dual Layer Drive IHAS424-98
Cooling - Cooler Master RR-B10-212P-G1

I'll need a FireWire 800 card - Suggestions?
A good wireless adaptor/card - Suggestions?

And finally: I had the notion of putting this baby together in an actual MacPro Chassis. I can get a late model unit on Ebay with 980Watt OEM power supply for about $300. So the 64K question is: Will all the goods above fit or am I just asking for trouble?

1) You will need a DSDT edit to get the 2 video cards working.
2) The Lite-On DVD drive may prevent auto-sleep. Sony and Pioneers work fine.
3) Unless you are good with metal fabrication and wiring, I would suggest a COTS case and power supply.

My friend was at Adobe presentation and the presenter had laprop with 25Gigs of RAM for video editing, so I guess 12 Gigs is in no way overkill.
