Greetings.. built a rig from some extra components I've accumulated (profile), Managed to install Yosemite, but cannot boot without disabling USB3.0 Controller in the bios. That renders my USB3.0 non-functional even though I've installed "Rehabmans" USB3.0 kext.
Upon verbose boot, screen gets stuck at (mbinit:done [64 mb total pool size, (85/42) split]), however disabling USB3.0 in the bios results in a successful boot. Any suggestions or advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! ssprod

A lot of the first gen board that jumped on the USB3 bandwagon did not use an Intel chipset for it, they used 3rd party which even then, rarely worked in windows let alone OSX. My old z68x-ud3h board USB3 never worked...windows or OSX. I know this isn't a solution to your issue but more of an assurance that you are not alone in your issue. I gave up on USB3 with my z68x platform.
