Music studio your HACK experience help needed please...

Hello everyone, The reason i ask for your experience regarding using an hackintosh for music is my brother who owns a recording studio and makes music for tv, radio and corporate ect for a living (yes a living no more) has ask me if i would look into building one for him, it as got to work "flawlessly without crashing and pops and clicks" (his words) so in your experience would an hackintosh for reliable music production be up to the job. I know what to buy for his build so no help required on that front and i own an sli hackintosh which i use for video editing Thanks for any reply.

i see no problem for u
please realize that u need the good stuff(hardware) for this to work for u....
think firewire k...
that interface is bulletproof for audio....
that said an i7 build is a minimum methinks...


i use a x58 build for a hi-end music server...and the sound is retarded good.....
i have a accuphase cd transport and this build is as good(hd waves and hd flac)
24bit optical>dac>preamp(krell)

there are many (mac)multi channel cards around and most work with our builds...

Have you thought to search the various forums for people/posts about successful DAW/studio builds? I'd start with Golden Builds, User Builda, Buying Advice, and there's a whole area devoted to music.
