I (mostly) followed the iBoot and Multibeast directions and I'm running smooth. One problem though: instead of *downloading and installing* Multibeast like I was told to, I ran it straight from a thumb drive. I didn't have ethernet going yet, and forgot to drag Multibeast to the Applications folder and install it before running it.

So now I want to install it for real (shouldn't I?) but I'm wondering: if I install Multibeast now can I do so without messing anything up? Could I just check the System Utilities box so I have those, or would I have to check all the same boxes I did the first time? I'm generally happy with the state of things otherwise so I'd hate to go back and start over.

Thanks!

...and would my installation error explain why my main "Snow Leopard" drive shows up as "external" when it isn't?

...and is there any harm in leaving it that way?

MultiBeast is not something you "install". It is a post OS X installation app, plain and simple that contains some useful kext files and some script files that allow you to painlessly install the files you check in the list to your hard drive. It also contains the system utilities files that rebuild caches and repair permissions and some other handy apps in the x86 tools section. It is not necessary that you keep it, although you could do so if you want. Just download the zip file, unzip it and drag the apple icon to your app folder just like you would any other app or just delete it. Next time you need it, download the latest file from the database, unzip it, run it and delete it. Simple as that.

Thanks!

So, is the fact that my main, actually-internal drive shows up as an orange, external, ejectable drive a big deal, or a fact of hackintosh life?
