When trying to install Nvidia Graphics Fixup Multibeast fails to mount the EFI partition, mounting it manually on /Volumes/EFI works just fine. If the partition is already mounted Multibeast unmounts it and then fails with the same error.

-------------------------------------------------------
  • macOS version: 10.3.4 (build 17E202)
  • MultiBeast version: 10.2.0
  • MultiBeast choices:
Drivers > Graphics > Nvidia Graphics Fixup
  • Destination files system type, HFS+ or APFS
Root partition is APFS and EFI partition fat
  • MultiBeast.log contents
04/25/18 21:12:43 - Mounting EFI
04/25/18 21:12:43 - Mount of EFI partition failed. Exiting.
  • install.log contents for the choices that you are installing
No multibeast related entries in /var/log/install.log

In Terminal post the output from the following command:

Code:
diskutil list

Then post the volume name you were installing to and if it has Clover installed on it.

Install disk 500GB (multiboot with windows and linux):

EFI partition is /dev/disk0s1
APFS root partition is /dev/disk0s9

Code:
/dev/disk0 (internal, physical):

   9: Apple_APFS Container disk3 104.9 GB disk0s9

APFS container:

The issue started (for me) with multibeast 10.x on high sierra, prior versions of multibeast on older OSX versions had no issues mounting this EFI partition.

Mounting the EFI partition hasn't changed since MultiBeast 8.x.

I get the same error, the EFI partition was created on Linux:

/dev/disk0 (internal, physical):

#: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER

0: GUID_partition_scheme *240.1 GB disk0

1: Linux Filesystem 64.2 GB disk0s1

2: Apple_APFS Container disk1 175.7 GB disk0s2

3: EFI ESP 209.7 MB disk0s3

If I mount the EFI partition with another tool, I can skip the error. EFI Mounter v3 gives an error too but it mounts.

I had same issue. Problem seem to be with Clover that MultiBeast installs. I overwrote EFI installed by MultiBeast with one on USB that was installed by UniBeast and that fixed problem.

@Arty Hi there, I am having the same issue, can you kindly elaborate on how exactly you did it. Thanks
