I'm seeing installation failed after using FakeSMC.kext from MB 5.0.1

Instalation of other packages also give failed error messages.
Culprit seems to be FakeSMC.kext from 5.0.1,
From Install.log:

Aug 14 11:41:20 pbmac.local installd[5028]: PackageKit: kextcache -update-volume / -Installer

Aug 14 11:41:21 pbmac.local installd[5028]: PackageKit: releasing backupd

Have removed FakeSMC.kext from /S/L/E and used MB 4.6 to reinstall FakeSMC.kext.
That solved the installation failed problem.
I guess this has something to do with ML being more strict on 3rd party sw installation.

Anyone working on making the latest version of FakeSMC pass ML install process?

Hmm this post was inteded to be in the ML Desktop suppor t forum, not sure how it ended up in the Guide section, sorry, can someone move this?

Multibeast 5.0.1 support questions, FakeSMC causing installation failed messages.

Reading the following in MB 5 release notes:
- Update all FakeSMC Plugins to install in the Plugins directory inside of FakeSMC.kext
Does this mean that the old FakeSMC plugins that were installed by MB 4.6 before upgrading to ML have to be removed manually from the /S/L/E library?

Move to the correct forum section. tonymacx86 forum index
